Administrative/Biographical History
Rosedale Baptist Church was founded on July 25, 1943, when multiple religious leaders, including Rev. Eldred Taylor, came together to hold a meeting. On August 15, 1943, Rev. Eldred Taylor was elected as first pastor. Service at this time were being held at the Baker House at 108 Rosedale Avenue. The church then moved to 509 Westover Avenue where a new a sanctuary was built. The first services in this new sanctuary took place on April 4, 1953.Throughout these years there were multiple different pastors including Rev. Leroy Blewer, Rev. James Henry, Rev. Roy Alexander, Rev. Fred Waldrop, and Rev. Dr. John Paul Frick. The church became incorporated as Rosedale Baptist Church of Richmond, Kentucky on December 8, 1982. In April 1996, the groundbreaking for the current church took place. The first services of the current church took place on December 8, 1996. Rosedale Baptist Church celebrated its 80th anniversary on July 25, 2023.
