Administrative/Biographical History
One of the earliest churches in the Madison County region, Tates Creek Baptist Church was organized between 1783 and 1786; the congregation first met in a stone building located somewhere in the vicinity of Shallow Ford. The building burned in 1850, and the congregation moved to its current location on Old Boonesborough Road in 1851.
