This collection was created to provide access to the family record pages from various single Bibles in the collection. Access is also provided to content that has been made available from patrons in a digital only format. When noted Special Collections does not own a copy of the paper record, only a scan of the pages.

Folder 1: Hall, Edward Family, 1818-1909Add to your cart.
Family record of Edward and Mary Susan Hall. The Bible was an 1855 edition of the American Bible Society.
Folder 2: Henderson, William Family, 1856-1906Add to your cart.
Record includes birth records of William Henderson, his wife Rachel Riddle and their children; the marriage date of William and Rachel and one of their daughters; and scattered birth records of other descendants. No death records were found in the Bible. William and Rachel were residents of Williamson County, Tennessee and William later moved to Nashville. This family was African American. The Bible was published in New York by the American Bible Company in 1869.

Record begins with the birth of Daniel Maupin in 1760 and records his wife and children's vital records along with other unidentified individuals. The earliest information on the Daniel Maupin family has been written in the same pen, possibly writing over ink that has faded. Other notations are in pencil written along the margins and on blank pages. The Bible edition is not available.
Folder 4: Miller, Christopher Irvine Family, 1813-1869Add to your cart.
This 1829 Bible published by the American Bible Society includes family records of Christopher Irvine and Talitha Harris Miller and their children. It also includes birth and death records of some of the enslaved people connected to the family.
Folder 5: Oldham, D. & C. Family, 1843-1946Add to your cart.
Records begin with the birth of Sanford Oldham and list all the children of Dawson and Caroline Oldham along with deaths of a broader family. The Bible is an 1857 edition of the Cottage Bible published by Case, Tiffany and Company.
Folder 6: Snoddy, Samuel Family, 1776-1865Add to your cart.
Family records for the family of Samuel and Ann Snoddy. It includes some nearly illegible entries written in pencil and different inks. The Bible was an 1811 Matthew Carey edition.

Record of the John and Sallie Pribble Vater family including church membership. The Bible was published in 1891 by the International Bible Agency.
Folder 8: Doty, Arch K. Family, 1833-1981Add to your cart.
Record includes birth, death and marriage records for Arch K. Doty and his wife Lizzie Francis. The Bible covers several generations of the family. Other surnames documented are Francis and Walker. The Bible was published by the American Bible Company in New York in 1884.
Folder 9: Doty, John Family, 1753-1865Add to your cart.
The earliest records in this Bible are for Thomas Jamison and Marther Robertson who married in 1753. They are the parents of  Rebekah who married John Doty in 1778. Includes birth, marriage, and death information for their children. Also includes inserted family tree pages The Bible was published in London in 1684.

Original record of the Joseph F. Oldham and Lydia A. Ellison family in an 1869 Zeigler, M'Curdy & Co. Bible. Also an eary transcript of the James Ellison Bible and a photograph of an unidentified girl.

Bible record of Jacob Hackett and Mary Alice Green. Title page of Bible is missing so date and publisher cannot be determined.
Folder 14: Connelly and Lyne Families, 1782-1848Add to your cart.
Record for the Sanford Connelly family. Sanford's daughter Nancy married James Lyne in 1795 in Fluvanna County, Virginia and their children are named. She later married William Tilley in Shelby County, Kentucy although no children from that marriage are listed. All records after 1818 appear to be birth records of enslaved people, although some are not labeled as such. The bible was published by Mathew Carey in Philadelphia in 1805.
