This artificial collection consists of materials relating to the abolition of slavery. It consists of two issues of the Anti-Slavery Bugle published in Ohio. The 1851 issue includes a letter from Kentucky abolitionist, Cassius M. Clay.

Publication of the Ohio American Anti-Slavery Society, later known as the Western Anti-Slavery Society. This issue mockingly compares polygamy and slavery, epmhasizing that each is "authorized and even recommended by the Scriptures;" prints a letter from the Kentucky abolitionist Cassius Marcellus Clay; reports on various anti-slavery meetings; a column on the fugitive slave law; and other contemporary matters relating to the slavery controversy.

Topics include the American Board of Foreign Missions is in fact "a pro-slavery, anti-christian organization," citing chapter and verse in demonstrating this inconvenient truth. Anti-slavery meetings are reported, as is material on the Binney presidential campaign. Two poems are contributed, one of them entitled, 'The Slave's Appeal.'
