Scope and Contents: The Walbaum Negatives consist of the images taken during his employment at the Richmond Register in 1982. Typically only one or two images appear in the newspaper, even though the photographer normally took multiple photographs. Sometimes as many as 11 rolls of film were used, as in the World's Fair story. This collection allows the user to see the photos that the paper didn't print. The main drawback to the collection is of course the very limited time span, but because of the small staff nearly every story printed during those three months is included in the collection.
Some images weren't identified or dated, so the date assigned to them was the date that the story appeared in the Richmond Register. Even after scanning the newspaper for the three months in question there were a few stories that weren't found in the paper. These have been described without a date in the last folder.
