Name: Watts, Mary Parkes (1848-1934)
Historical Note: Mary Parkes Watts was born October 14, 1848 in Richmond, Kentucky and died March 2, 1934 at the same. At the age of 30, Mary married William Walker Watts. After her husband's death in 1912, Mary began to take trips with her daughter, Emma Watts. They travelled to New York during most summers and even took a few trips to Europe. Upon her marriage in 1878, she became good friends with Annie Armstrong, from Texas. The friendship was so strong that their bond remained for the rest of their lives and Annie even named her only daughter "Mary Watts."
