Scope and Contents of the Materials
The Chautauqua Lecture Series is an artificial collection consisting of all the Chautauqua materials that have been transferred to the archives. The collection has VHS or DVD recordings of all lectures except Fall 2008 through Spring 2010. They will be added to the collection when copies are received.
Collection Historical Note
The Chautauqua lecture series was started by Bruce MacLaren in 2000 with hopes of not only bringing in the brightest minds in all fields of study to speak, but to attract students, faculty, and the public to listen and become involved in the debate. The series has goals of refreshing minds, renewing intellectual curiosity, encouraging individual expression and promoting civil discourse while exploring a single significant idea.
