Scope and Contents of the Materials
This collection consists of two essays written by Geneva Rucker Todd on the Silver Creek community and Lake Reba, both in Madison County, KY. The essays are titled Chapter 2 and 3 so appear to be part of a larger work.
Collection Historical Note
Geneva Rucker Todd (1897-1977) was the daughter of John L. Rucker and Altha Wingate. Her father died in 1908 and Geneva was raised by her grandparents in Paint Lick. Her sister was Rio Burke, a singer in Chicago who married one of Al Capone's lieutenants.

- These essays seem to be part of Todd's memoir and focus on her childhood, but they do give interesting insights into early Richmond and the Silver Creek Distillery. She talks about living near Lake Reba when her father worked for the water plant and about her life at Silver Creek when he worked for the distillery.
