Collection Overview
Scope and Contents of the Materials
This collection consists of the genealogy research files compiled by Bill and Kathy Vockery over decades of conducting family research for people around the country. They conducted research in Madison and Garrard Counties, Kentucky. The content of the files includes original correspondence between the Vockerys and researchers and copies of documents that prove various family connections. In rare cases there are original letters and documents that were sent to the Vockerys. This collection would be very helpful for family history researchers in Madison and Garrard Counties.
Collection Historical Note
Kathy Vockery, a retired school counselor, and her husband Bill have written numerous genealogy books on Madison, Garrard and Jessamine Counties in Kentucky. They have found hidden cemeteries, and have transcribed court records, marriage records and vital records. In addition, for many years they have assisted genealogy researchers in finding their Madison and Garrard County roots.

Fowler and Eliza Lunsford dated 5 September 1914, a copy of a deed of conveyance involving William S. Fowler dated 16 February 1880. Also contains correspondence between Vockery and Mary Fowler Leek, William J. "Bill" Utermohlen, Evelyn F. McKinney, Judith Fowler Burnhart, C. Richard DeVore, May Johnson, Carol Fowler Jereczek, Robert and Beth Crawford.

- Includes photo negatives and developed photos of the graves of various individuals including Samuel Fox (b. 1746 - d. 1844), Valentine White (b. 1802 - d. 1834), Lucy White, and John Fox (b. 1770 - d. 1831), and correspondence between Vockery and Elizabeth Stuerke (who evidently requested the information on the tombstones), as well as other correspondence between Vockery and Judith Weeks Ancell, Burton M. Harris, Donna Gray (with many attached files regarding the White/Fox/Wood families. Also contains various family group records, several lineage records, a copy of the last will and testament of John Fox dated 2 October 1831, a copy of a deed of conveyance involving Samuel Fox dated 8 June 1859.

- Includes a single family group record file regarding the family of Lewis Francis (b. 1790 - d. 1855)

- Includes correspondence between Vockery and W.L. Wilson regarding Louis Jacob Frazee (b. 1849 - d. 1906) with attached files including a biographical sketch of Frazee in a Madison County document published by the United Confederate Veterans.

- Contains correspondence between Vockery and Nancy O'Bannon (with attached copies of a marriage bond involving Jeremiah B. Frazier dated 28 November 1859, the obituary of Lucy Frazier dated 15 April 1896). Also contains family group records, ahnentafel graphs, the marriage record of Columbus Frazier dated 18 April 1892, a copy of a deed of conveyance involving Eliza Bell Frazer dated 31 December 1915.

- Includes correspondence between Vockery and Lily Freeman Walker regarding her Freeman lineage, Jay Freeman regarding one Alexander Freeman, Raymond Rainbolt regarding one Samuel Freeman, Katherine Freeman White regarding Samuel Freeman as well. Also includes several family group files.

- Contains copies of an inheritance conveyance to Melinda Fugitt (widow of Townson Fugitt) dated 20 November 1816.
- Folder 8: Fullilove

- Includes correspondence between Vockery and Dulcene Puttbrese with attached copies of a deed of conveyance involving two Fullilove family members dated 26 March 1833, William H. Fullilove regarding one Brutush Fullilove, Jenette Heiderman with attached family group files.
- Folder 9: Gaddis

- Contains a set of correspondence between Vockery and Ruth Hightower Smith regarding Daniel Gaddis, Sr., with copies of Census records.
- Folder 10: Gaffney

- Includes copies of a marriage record involving George Gaffney dated 2 February 1867, several family group records, a copy of the land survey of Greene County, Illinois, taken in 1876, a copy of an article regarding a Gaffney dated 15 February 1907, as well as transcriptions of three articles from the Carrollton Gazette dating to September and October 1858, copies of the original newspaper clippings, copies of a marriage bond involving Andrew Gafney dated 18 December 1900, a copy of the death certificate of Andrew Gafney dated 5/3/1934, copies of various census records. - Contains correspondence between Vockery and Eric Glasgow regarding the Samuel Glasgow who came to Garrard/Madison County, KY, in the 1780s with family group records and various other; Karin A. Rice about Annie Glasgow (b. 1788/9) with family group records. Also contains a copy of a deed of conveyance involving John Glasgow dated 10 March 1837.

- Contains correspondence between Vockery and George J. Bush regarding Ambrose Goff (m. 20 May 1811) with attached documents including a biographical sketch about David Goff written by Harriet K. McArthur, as well as a family pedigree extending back to the 17th century, and a copy of a deed of conveyance dated 12 February 1820 involving James Goff and Zachariah Goff.
