Historical Note: The EKU Gospel Ensemble (University Ensemble) was formed in 1965 by Eric Abercrumbie, Reggie Walters and Mary Mitchell in response to a request for a student ensemble to play at First Baptist Church (Frances and Collins). The group became a recognized student organization in 1970 with William H. Berge as the faculty advisor.
