This small collection consists of a program for an 86th birthday dinner for Samuel S. Parkes held by members of the Masonic Lodge and checks signed by Parkes.
Collection Historical Note
Samuel S. Parkes was a native of Madison County, Kentucky and was a banker for 55 years. He was also the treasurer of the local Masonic Lodge for 50 years. At his death at age 98 in 1927, he was considered to be the oldest resident of Madison County.
