Scope and Contents of the Materials
This is a collection of land records which were found in the Townsend Room collections with no provenance. They have been arranged together to provide access to the materials. The records include agreements, deeds, grants, surveys and warrants. Some of the early warrants are signed by prominent citizens of Virginia and Kentucky.

- This deed is for a lot on Main Street in the town of Boonesborough sold to William Calk by the trustees of Boonesborough. Other signatures include John Wilkerson, William Bush, Nicholas George and John Holder. (From the Dorris Museum Collection, no accession # on document, but N.84 on card)

(From Dorris Museum Collection, no accession #, but attached note in Dr. Dorris' hand states that it was given to Eastern by Mrs. John C. Taylor. Her husband was a grandson of Francis Taylor.)
