Collection Overview
Scope and Contents of the Materials
This collection consists of manuscript materials that were collected by the Dorris Museum. Some of the collection has been processed either as individual collections or has been added to other artificial collections as appropriate. The items inventoried here are just a small percentage of a collection that had a worldwide scope. Dr. Dorris collected any materials that he found to be interesting without regard to subject. Other materials will be added to this inventory as identified and processed.

- These records document repayment of the Stanford to Richmond, KY branch of the Louisville & Nashville Rail Road bond issue. Includes a bound photocopy. (Dorris Museum #1535)
- Folder 3: Madison County Library Company Records, 1841-1863
- Includes circulation records from 1841-1848 and library board minutes from 1856-1863. Includes a bound photocopy. (Dorris Museum #1422)
- Folder 4: Madison County Railroads Scrapbook, 1872-1879
- Scrapbook includes news clippings about the Elizabethtown & Paducah (E & P) Railroad; the L & N branch from Stanford to Richmond, KY; the Richmond, Irvine and Three Forks railroad; as well as railroads in Missouri. Some articles discuss the difference between narrow and broad guage rails, some discuss state debt and others show population statistics, but the bulk of the clippings relate to railroads.
