This scrapbook was created by Mrs. G.D. Hamilton of Richmond, Kentucky in 1941. It consists of nearly 300 syndicated and editorial political cartoons relating to WWII from various artists and newspapers as well as two cartoons that were created by hand. Artists include Svoboda, Cargill, Harold Talburt, Reg Manning, Herbert Block (Herblock), Robert York, Grover Page, Daniel Bishop, Rollin Kirby, Brown, Paul Carmack and others. Topics include Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin, American defense spending, labor issues and more. The bulk of the cartoons are affixed to plain paper, but there is a stack in the back of the scrapbook that were never mounted.
The scrapbook won first prize in the Lion's Club Hobby and Crafts Exhibition in May of 1941.
This volume was transferred from the Dorris Museum collection in 2000. (Dorris accession #1014)
